Who we are

Musicante ("we", "the app") is a music practice tool that helps you transpose songs, learn chords and organize your repertoire.

Data controller: the individual developer named on Musicante's store listing (the App Store shows the developer's name and address there). Contact: musicante.support@gmail.com.

What data we collect

Without an account: your charts, settings and history are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. The iOS and Android apps still check with RevenueCat whether you own Pro, as described below.

With an account: your email address, an encrypted password (we never see it - authentication is handled by Supabase), and the songs, setlists and feedback you choose to save.

Sign in with Apple or Google: we also receive the name that service shares, stored with your account. Apple lets you hide your real email address.

Microphone (tuner only): if you use the built-in tuner, audio is analysed live on your device to detect pitch. It is never recorded, saved, or transmitted.

Pro purchases: payment is processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never receive or store your card details. When the iOS or Android app starts, it asks RevenueCat whether you own Pro, sending an anonymous app user ID (your account ID if you are signed in) and, after a purchase, the store receipt - never your card details, email address or songs.

When the app or the web app opens, it asks our sign-in provider (Supabase) which sign-in methods are available. As with every web request, this sends your IP address; it contains none of your songs or settings.

Support and feedback: if you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and keep them only as long as needed to answer you. Our mailbox runs on Gmail (Google), so those emails pass through Google.

Why we use it (legal basis)

To provide the service you asked for - storing and syncing your music library (contract, GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

To keep the service secure and fix problems (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)).

We do NOT sell your data, we do NOT use advertising trackers, and we do NOT profile you.

Where your data lives

Account data (your email, songs and setlists) is stored with Supabase (PostgreSQL) in the EU (Ireland, eu-west-1).

Two of our processors are based in the United States. Vercel serves the website and the web app, so it handles connection data such as your IP address; it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. RevenueCat verifies Pro purchases; transfers to it are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Supabase, Vercel and RevenueCat are all bound by data-processing agreements.

Local-mode data never leaves your browser or device.

How long we keep it

Your account data is kept until you delete your account. Feedback is kept while it is useful for improving the app.

You can wipe all local data anytime from Settings in the app.

Our host (Vercel) keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, for security and operation.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, and delete your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability.

Settings in the app lets you export or erase your local data instantly. If you have an account, "Delete my account" in Settings removes it and everything saved in it from our servers straight away. For any other request, email musicante.support@gmail.com - we answer within 30 days.

You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde (www.dsb.gv.at); if you live elsewhere in the EU, you can also contact your own national authority.

Account & data deletion

In the app: open Settings -> Privacy and tap “Delete my account”, then confirm. Your account, your saved songs and setlists, and any feedback you sent are erased from our servers straight away. The action is immediate and cannot be undone.

Without the app: email musicante.support@gmail.com from your registered address and we will delete the account for you within 30 days.

Guest users have no account to delete - none of their songs or settings ever reach our servers. “Delete local data” in Settings erases everything Musicante has stored on the device, for guests and account holders alike.

Cookies & local storage

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores small technical entries in your browser's local storage: your preferences (language, theme, sound), your recent charts, your practice statistics and Ottavio's prizes (counted on your device only), your chart ratings and notes, whether you have seen the welcome tour, your sign-in session if you sign in, and - without an account - your saved library. They exist only to make the app work and are never shared. The Musicante website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.

Children

Musicante is suitable for all ages. Accounts require the minimum age for digital consent in your country (13-16 in the EU). Younger musicians can use the app fully in guest mode, where no personal data is collected.
